Aelin's Story

Meet Aelin, a very shy girl looking for her forever home. Aelin needs the right person who is patient and willing to take their time with her as she is very scared and confused here at the shelter. But we know that with some time and effort, she will become your new best friend. She has not lived successfully with dogs or cats in her previous home, so she would most likely need to be the only pet. She would do best in a quiet home where she can take her time to adjust to a new environment. If you think that you could be the right fit for Aelin, please contact the shelter at (970) 626-2273 or you can stop by any day between 11am and 5:30pm to meet her.

Second Chance Humane Society's Adoption Policy

You can view our available dogs and cats online, or visit with them in person at our shelter. We are located at 177 County Road 10 in Ridgway, Colorado. We are open to the public 11 AM – 5:30 PM, 7 Days a Week (except designated holidays). We adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We don’t allow pet holds. Our adoption fees vary depending on the age of the pet. Dogs: $200 puppies under 6 months old $100 adult dogs $50 seniors (7 years and up) Cats: $100 kittens under 6 months old $50 adult cats $25 seniors (7 years and up) All pets adopted from Second Chance are microchipped, spayed or neutered, and will have age-appropriate vaccinations. Be prepared to bring your new pet home. All adopted dogs will need a collar and leash. We have them available to purchase, or you can bring your own. ID tags are also available. Cats will need a carrier to go home with you.
