Adonis's Story

Hello! My name is Adonis, and here's my story - I was on the lam for months in the wintertime and several rescuers tried to trap me. Of course, I was very suspicious since I did not know of their intentions, and I managed to avoid them all. But the snows came, it was cold, and I was getting weary. Rescuers continued to provide food and water, but by the time I arrived at the feeding station, racoons had already been there and dined. Between them and the weather, there was not much to eat. I managed to survive the winter and in the spring, as I was waiting at the feeding station, a nice lady arrived with provisions. I looked at her and she at me and I made a choice. I did not run. This was the day. She bent down and stroked my back and it felt good. She returned to her car, then placed a carrier in front of me and I climbed in, and this turned out to be a great decision. After taking a long look at me, she named me Adonis, which I find most appropriate since it means "a very handsome young man".

I am warm and safe in a foster home, well cared for and much loved. My foster parents brought home more rescues, and yes, I must admit I love thundering through the house with my hooligan counterparts and jumping over anything in our way. I adore my foster mom, but am longing for more attention and someone to love and lavish me with their praise. I have not been exposed to dogs.

If you are looking for a pal and interested in adopting me, here is what I can do for you:

I will watch TV with you while resting by your side.
I will assist while you are preparing dinner.
I will entertain myself and chase toys all over the room.
I will be delighted to lounge for hours, snoozing on top of a cat tree.
I will be available for a cuddle, just call to me and I will come.

I am an energetic, active, playful, and adoring feline looking for a companion. I want someone to love me, to care for me, and to make sure I get my daily fluoxetine so I can maintain my meticulous litterbox habits. It’s an anxiety issue, it’s not a medical issue. If you are looking for a companion and someone to love, please let your choice be me!

Adonis was born around April 2021
. He is currently being lovingly fostered in Woodbury. He is fixed, is up-to-date on shots, is microchipped and tested neg for FIV/FeLV*

All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved. Application for adoption can be found at https://www.fosterandforever.org/

Our volunteers do their best to respond within 24 - 48 hrs.

Foster and Forever Pet Rescue's Adoption Policy
We adopt to CT residents ONLY. We do not ship our animals. If you are interested in adopting, please send us an application from our website (www.fosterandforever.org) or send us an email (fosterandforever@gmail.com). For the safety of our cats and adopter’s children, families with children under 5 years of age will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. All of our animals are housed at volunteer foster homes. One of the most rewarding ways you can make a difference in the lives of homeless animals is by volunteering to be a foster pet parent. Fostering gets animals out of shelters and unsafe conditions into safe, loving, homes where they can grow and heal until they are ready for permanent adoption. We are always in need of foster homes for cats! Foster and Forever will provide food and litter and cover all veterinary costs; all you need is a safe place and an open heart. If you are interested in fostering OR need more information, please visit our website at www.fosterandforever.org.
