Abbot is the sweetest, goofiest little guy who has been waiting for his forever home for over a year. All his brothers got adopted right away because people thought they were cuter and more outgoing than quiet Abbot...but it's just that he takes a little patience and time before he shows you how affectionate and ridiculous he really is.<br/><br/>He does well in his foster home with the other cats, but we can all he really wants is a lap of his own! He will sit for hours on your lap, purring happily, and sleep right next to you (or on you, if you prefer) all night. He can be very athletic and active at playtime and has a very impressive vertical leap.<br/><br/>Abbot will keep you entertained all day with his antics, whether it's sleeping upside down or making his trademark little chirp if he thinks you need to be reminded he's there. (It is a tiny chirp he doesn't make very often, so you will treasure it!) When he thinks he's about to get some good scritches, he'll bob his head sideways to help speed up the process.<br/><br/>He will do well in a quiet home with seasoned cat people who are willing to give a shy cat time to blossom. He wouldn't mind another laid-back cat or two (he hasn't met dogs but if the dog is chill with cats, he should be okay), but his number one priority is a warm lap!<br/><br/>Abbot is about a year and a half as of fall 2026, and is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
