18 lb cuddly, friendly boy needs a home's Story

Boots is a BIG sweet and friendly cat who ended up living with a group of outdoor cats in a small cul-de-sac neighborhood. He was not neutered, which may be the reason he had roamed away from home – because this friendly boy obviously has had a home at some time in the past. But no owners were found, and when the humans with the outdoor cats moved, they took him with.

Fast-forward nearly a year, and once again Boots is looking for a home. His people hated giving him up, but the landlord said there were too many, and since this boy can be a bit aggressive with other cats, but loves humans and even small dogs...it was decided he had the best chance of them all at finding a good home. He has a lot of energy, much of it coming out after dark – with just a week in his new foster home, his foster mom wants to make sure his new people know this boy is pretty nocturnal! He is being introduced to a large catio today to see if that helps keep him occupied in the night.

Boots is estimated to be in the 3 to 5-year-old range. He is young and healthy, and was neutered/vaccinated last December. He eats both dry and canned food and is not picky. No problems with the litter box either, this boy is kind of the perfect boy for someone wanting an all round nice cat!

Boots is used to going in and out out of a catio, a new home with that offering would be a huge plus. He loved the little dog in his last home, they would play and snuggle often. He has coexisted with three other cats, but there have been some territorial type of dominant issues – a few spats here and there, nothing horrible, but he will likely do best either as an only cat, a cat with a dog companion, or perhaps with kittens since kittens accept dominance readily.

If you’re looking for a wonderful kitty companion, look no further. Boots is more than ready to come home. And the pictures in this post were taken within two days of going into his foster home - in the right home he will have an easy adjustment.

Contact Nancy at grassrootsrescuewa@gmail.com for more info. He is currently in foster in Mount Vernon, WA
