Sweet Pea & Pito -2 (Special Needs) YNA’s 's Story
These two deeply bonded Yellow-naped Amazons have shared their lives for over 30 years. They are never far from one another’s sight, and they cannot be separated. Their connection is lifelong and essential to their well-being.

Sweet Pea has a pinched nerve resulting from a poor diet earlier in her life. She has been with her devoted companion, Pito, for her entire life. While they are housed in separate cages, they regularly share the same cage and spend much of their time together. Pito can sometimes become very protective of Sweet Pea, and when this happens, he may need a little quiet time in his own space to reset.

Sweet Pea and Pito are searching for a compassionate, experienced Amazon-parrot home—someone willing to see the world through their eyes and provide the gentle, attentive care they require. They adore fresh chop and cherish the comfort of an occasional warm, home-cooked meal. Most of all, they need a kind-hearted person who truly understands and respects their needs.

Sweet Pea requires regular warm baths to help keep her comfortable and clean. Their future home must have space for both cages and at least one year of experience with Amazon parrots. We strongly prefer placing this special pair with someone who lives close to their avian veterinarian, Dr. Litner at Avian Medical Center in Lake Oswego, to ensure continuity of care.

To help us give Sweet Pea and Pito the best possible transition, we kindly ask that you complete our adoption application before reaching out. Please refrain from calling or emailing with questions prior to submitting an application, as early inquiries slow the process of posting new available birds.

Please do not email or call before completing the adoption application. These two inseparable Yellow Nape Amazons have been together for the last 30 years, always in site of each other and they can’t be separated.

To help us manage the adoption process smoothly, we kindly ask that you wait to reach out until after completing our adoption application.

Please restrain from emailing us or making advance phone calls before filling out our adoption application.

The first step in the process is to complete our adoption application—it’s quick and simple!
