Snowflake and Tweety (Eagle River)'s Story
** If you are interested in Snowflake and Tweety, you must submit an adoption application. Instructions are at the end of this bio **

Meet Snowflake and Tweety! These budgies are seeking their new home. They are approximately 3 years old. Snowflake is the white/gray/blue female and Tweety is the blue/green/yellow male. They are a bonded pair and must go to their new home together.

Their relinquishing owner writes:

"Both parakeets are very nice, social and non-aggressive. They do not like or want to be handled. I think with the right person Tweety would be trainable - he's more outgoing than Snowflake. Tweety loves toys, but can get a bit territorial so I do have to take them out sometimes until he cools off. He is very cute and curious though and maybe just a bit bored. Snowflake is more docile and shy, but she's very sweet and will whistle back at you. I think she would like more interaction with humans or other parakeets. They are a bonded pair just because they were bought together and have only known each other, however I think if someone had other parakeets they might benefit from socializing with other birds. I think Snowflake just might tolerate Tweety, and could potentially be happier with other birds too. They really need more attention and play, and honestly a bigger cage. They do not have out of cage time - both panic and run into
walls, but I think in the right environment they both could adapt to a space where they would enjoy being out.

Snowflake is just very sweet, shy and gentle. But she's social and loves her sweet potato and kale treats. Tweety is very lively and busy with his toys. I think he might be the one who could be trained to do fun things. They're both nice birds and will chatter away with you. They both love music as I provide a timed radio when I'm not home, and they do like YouTube channels like the Birdingtons and ones with flocks of parakeets and cockatiels. I think they'd really benefit from a home that has other parakeets and/or someone who really knows parakeets.

Snowflake has laid unfertilized eggs when the lighting has changed and she became hormonal, but I adjusted their night and daylight hours. She hasn't laid anything in a month or so. No mating has occurred between her and Tweety, and I do not provide any nesting materials or boxes. They are not breeder birds."

** To apply for Snowflake amd Tweety, please download the application from http://www.alaskabirdclub.org/aab_forms.shtml
... fill out, and attach document copy and paste into an email to:
akbirdclubadoptions@gmail.com **
