She is very social behind bars, as she has not adjusted to human contact just yet, but with time, she absolutely will.
When she first came into her foster home around May 2024, she wanted nothing to do with
people and would hide in the corner of her cage if you came near.
This was paired with feather plucking and anxiety around loud noise.
Recently, though, her feathers have been brighter and growing in beautifully!
She has also started to come to the front of her cage and say hi to observe what her foster family is doing.
When she is out of her cage, she is always exploring and flying around to places, so she needs supervision.
She’s very vocal and loves to play with the other smaller foster birds in the house.
She takes occasional baths, but her favorite is sunbathing.
Rio is a very playful bird and LOVES toys.
