Renee's Story
Meet Rosie and Renee, an inseparable pair of (nearly identical!) 8-year-old lovebirds with two different, but equally lovable, personalities.

Rosie is the bolder of the pair. She warmed up quickly in foster care and has blossomed into a confident, curious girl with a little bit of spunk. Renee was shyer at first, but has turned out to be incredibly sweet and gentle. She's the one with the little yellow patch on the back of her head, which makes telling the two apart a bit easier. Both girls now reliably step up and will happily fly over to their people -- especially for treats, but often just to hang out. They'll perch on your arm, leg, shoulder, or back.

Both girls are fairly outgoing and usually come over quickly when they're let out of the cage. Their destination does depend a little on the room, though: in a lower-ceilinged space, they're likely to fly right over to you, while in a room with high ceilings, their bird instincts kick in and they'll make a beeline for the highest available perch (chandeliers included!). A home with a manageable space for supervised flight would be ideal.

Rosie and Renee aren't constant chatterboxes, but they definitely have their vocal moments. Expect some tweeting and chattering, the occasional happy "quack," and some pointed vocalizing when they want something (translation: "More millet, please!"). They also understand the value of beauty sleep and stay fully quiet from lights-out until morning.

They are now (somewhat reluctantly) eating Roudybush pellets, although if they had their way, seeds would still win every time. Favorite treats include millet, safflower seeds, and Nutriberries.

These girls do best in a calm, low-drama household where they can continue building trust and enjoying plenty of supervised time outside the cage. A calm resident cat is fine as long as it stays outside the cage. Both would be great candidates for a first-time bird owner, and they come as a package deal -- Rosie's bold, spirited personality and Renee's gentle sweetness make them a very lovable little duo.

Adoption fee: $120 for both birds
