Pika (to be adopted with his friends Cherry and Bubbles)'s Story

Pika is a lutino cockatiel who loves to sing. He needs to be adopted with his 2 best buddies, Cherry and Bubbles. They all live happily together in one cage.

He was injured before he came to PEARL and is missing his right foot, but he gets around very well. He does need soft perches, like rope perches because of this. He also needs to be in a cage large enough to allow him to fly from perch to perch.

Pika enjoys out of the cage time and attention from people. He will takes treats from people, but because of his missing foot he isn't comfortable being on a hand at this point. With time and patience he may be willing to learn to step up.

Pika is bonded to Bubbles and Cherry. They must be adopted together.

Thank you for considering adopting your new feathered companion through PEARL Parrot Rescue. It is estimated that approximately 85% of birds purchased are rehomed or abandoned within the first two years of ownership. By considering adoption you are helping put an end to this crisis affecting companion parrots in the United States. In order to adopt from PEARL, all potential adopters must complete our three step adoption process. This includes an application, participation in our Standards of Care Class, and consent to a home check. Regardless of whether you have had or currently have birds, classes are required. We want to ensure that all our potential adopters are equipped with the knowledge to properly care for a parrot. During these classes we discuss our expectations on caging, diet, enrichment, training, and so much more.
