Pickle, Pepper, & Pimento's Story

Meet Pickle, Pepper, and Pimento! 🌶️✨ This boisterous trio of Pekin ducks were rescued from abandonment at Wissahickon Valley Park and Bullfrog Valley Park. They are all male and under 2 years old. Pickle and Pepper are a bonded pair who love to run around together digging for worms and dabbling in mud. Pimento loves to hang out with his buds, and is usually close by enjoying the pool! He loves to swim and relax on the water all day. We hope to find a loving home for these three that enjoy the benefits of having an all-male flock! For example, male ducks are extremely quiet, you will never be overrun with eggs, and you don't have to worry about any egg-related health or reproductive problems!

These three would be a perfect beginner flock or additions to an existing bachelor flock. It is a bonus if you are experienced in Pekins and can accommodate their breed-specific needs as they age, such as monitoring their waddling for arthritis and addressing it with pain medication as it advances. The trio has completed a full quarantine and tested negative for parasites. Transport is available almost anywhere to a responsible home!

---

ADOPTION CRITERIA:

As flightless domestic ducks, Pickle, Pepper, and Pimento need a safe and secure area (such as an aviary or run) during the daytime when not directly supervised. During the nighttime, they need a fully enclosed coop to be safe from predators. We also ask that our adopters have access to an avian veterinarian in case of illness or injury. No pond? No problem! Domestic ducks do much better with kiddie pools that can be scrubbed and refilled regularly for their health.

Nowhere near Pennsylvania? Also not a problem! We do long-distance transport for loving duck homes regularly. Please still get in touch and fill out an application if you'd like to be the lucky adopter of a rescue duck!

For new duck caretakers, or experienced flock guardians, we provide support and guidance for life. Please adopt a duck so that we have the space to rescue another one in urgent need!

APPLICATION:

https://forms.gle/Gr712tt5Jwnc5KwJ8

INQUIRIES: hello@sweetpeacesanctuary.org
