Petrie

Petrie was recently rescued; found in the middle of the road, unable to fly. With the exception of her tail feathers, which are sparce, she seems to be otherwise healthy. We suspect she may have been released for some sort of ceremony and either crashed into the other birds or an object in the confusion, rendering her temporarily in shock and unable to fly. <br/><br/>Petrie is believed to be a King pigeon. She is eating and drinking, and seems to really enjoy being spoken to; she listens intently, turns her head and looks right at you when you speak. <3 We will consider homes where she will have the ability to fly around safely (whether in an aviary or in the home), not kept strictly in a "cage". Petrie is a beautiful girl who appears to be quite domesticated. She allows petting, but is still getting to know us.
