Petey's Story

Meet Petey!

Petey is a beautiful Senegal Parrot with a gentle soul looking for a patient, loving forever home. He spent more than 20 years with his previous owner in a home where he was very loved and received lots of attention, head scratches, and companionship. As you can imagine, moving to a new environment has been a big adjustment, so Petey is understandably a little shy while he learns to trust.

The good news is that Petey already knows how to step up and enjoys interacting with people once he feels comfortable. According to his previous owner, he especially enjoys head scratches and absolutely loves chewing on bird-safe toys to keep his busy beak occupied. His former owner also shared that he has generally shown a preference for women.

Petey would thrive with someone who understands parrots and is willing to let him settle in at his own pace. He isn't looking for perfection—just someone who will give him the time, patience, and consistency he needs to build a new bond.

Because of his shy nature, Petey would do best in a calm household without small children. A quieter environment where he can receive plenty of attention and continue building his confidence will help him flourish.

If you're looking for a loyal companion and understand that the best relationships with parrots are built on trust, Petey may be the perfect addition to your family. With patience, love, and a few head scratches, we think this sweet boy has many wonderful years of companionship still to give.

Adoption Fee: $250.00
