Pesto's Story

Pesto is a handsome 23 year old male cocktatiel. He came to Pearl when his elderly owner was no longer able to care for him. Although he came in with his 3 cockatiels friends and they wouldn't mind staying together, his best friend is Cinnamon, and they need to be adopted together.

PEARL Parrot Rescue's Adoption Policy

Thank you for considering adopting your new feathered companion through PEARL Parrot Rescue. It is estimated that approximately 85% of birds purchased are rehomed or abandoned within the first two years of ownership. By considering adoption you are helping put an end to this crisis affecting companion parrots in the United States. In order to adopt from PEARL, all potential adopters must complete our three step adoption process. This includes an application, participation in our Standards of Care Class, and consent to a home check. Regardless of whether you have had or currently have birds, classes are required. We want to ensure that all our potential adopters are equipped with the knowledge to properly care for a parrot. During these classes we discuss our expectations on caging, diet, enrichment, training, and so much more.
