Pepper's Story
Pepper is a yellow headed amazon parrot available for adoption!

Pepper is a feisty bird and has a history of becoming inappropriately bonded to another bird in his former home, this is why he was surrendered into rescue. This caused him to lunge at people and made him difficult to handle. When Pepper is the only bird in a home, he does much better and is able to engage with people. Please take this into consideration if you are interested in Pepper, as this is a very important factor in his behavior.

Pepper's foster home says that one time when he was asked to step up, he lifted his foot like he was going to step up and then gently wrapped his toes around their finger and pushed it away! He has got that classic amazon attitude! He would do best in a home where he is the only large bird. He is currently eating Zupreem pellets. Pepper doesn't talk much but makes plenty of amazon sounds.

Check out the video of Pepper to see what a good boy he can be!

We believe Pepper to be around 7 years old. This is quite young as amazons can have lifespans from 40-50 years, so we will need potential adopters to have a succession plan for him should he outlive you. We are happy to discuss options and help you work through this!

Pepper's adoption fee is $300.

If you are interested email adoption@earps.org or go to http://earps.org/EARPS,_Inc/Adoption.html and fill out an adoption application!
