Peepers's Story
Meet Peepers, a Bare eyed Cockatoo who somehow has been waiting for a home far longer than makes any sense.

Peepers is an absolute delight. She is sweet, goofy, social, and loves interacting with just about everyone she meets. If there is music playing, especially something fun and upbeat, you can expect head bopping, dancing, and pure cockatoo enthusiasm. When she gets excited, she goes all in and makes sure the whole room knows it.

She has an excellent appetite and is not picky at all. Peepers happily eats her Harrison's pellets, loves veggies, and seems thrilled with just about anything that ends up in her bowl. She prefers cardboard style toys over hardwood and is perfectly content shredding and exploring softer enrichment options.

Peepers enjoys being near her people and thrives when she can be part of the household activity. She communicates clearly and lets you know when she has had enough interaction, making her a great match for someone who understands and respects bird body language. She is affectionate and engaging without being demanding, and her enthusiasm is balanced by clear boundaries.

Peepers has tested positive for Avian Bornavirus. At this time, her condition is well managed and does not require medication, but maintaining a relationship with an avian veterinarian is essential for her long term care. This diagnosis should not deter the right adopter, but it does require awareness and responsibility.

As a cockatoo, Peepers does have a strong voice and will not be a good fit for apartment living or homes with shared walls. For a home that enjoys personality, music, laughter, and an expressive companion, Peepers is truly a hidden gem. We honestly do not understand how she is still waiting, but we are hopeful her people are out there and ready to fall in love.

Adoption Fee: $340
