Paul's Story

Paul & Ringo: The Cockatiel Duo You Didn't Know You Needed
These sweet, bonded brothers are the perfect mix of charm, song, and gentle companionship. Now in their golden years, Paul and Ringo are looking for a calm, loving home where they can enjoy the good life--sunny windows, soft landings, and maybe the occasional hunt for a stray seed on the carpet.
Paul is the emotional one--he wears his little heart on his sleeve (or wing). If he can't see Ringo? Expect dramatic flock calls until they're reunited. He's a soft presence who loves hanging out near his person, watching the world go by, and performing his signature wing-spread serenades when the mood strikes.
Ringo is the cool, calm, collected sibling. He's gained tons of confidence and will gladly hop onto a shoulder or take treats from your hand. He's happy to explore solo and doesn't panic when separated, though he clearly prefers being with Paul.
Together, they make a delightful pair. They love short bursts of ground foraging (we call it their "ground chicken" routine), short flights around the room, and window-watching--especially if wild birds or the neighbor's dog are involved. They're curious, gentle birds who don't crave hands-on affection but thoroughly enjoy being part of the household scene.
These two are looking for a quiet retirement home that will appreciate their laid-back personalities and let them just be birds. While not fans of bathtime (you've been warned), they're low-key, entertaining companions with soft voices and soft hearts.
Adoption Fee: $240 for the pair

STAR - St. Louis Avian Rescue's Adoption Policy
Please note, due to the quantity of emails that we receive, simply "starting an inquiry" will not receive a reply. Please email info@staravian.org if you have a specific question. The first step is to fill out an Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. All birds are in volunteer foster homes, and a meeting may not be set up until you are approved to adopt. Our adoption team will process your application and set up a home visit. All current pets (including any birds cockatiel and larger) must be up to date on yearly wellness exams and any state mandated vaccines. We do not ship birds, and have a 100-mile adoption radius (using St. Louis Lambert Airport as the start point). We do not adopt to breeders. We are not able to adopt birds into homes that use Teflon product or smoke due to toxicity dangers.
