Pablo's Story

Meet Pablo, a bold Greencheek Conure with strong opinions, lots of energy, and a deep love of exploration.

Pablo is not hand tame yet, and fingers are absolutely the enemy in his world. He is still working on trust and tameness in foster care and will need an adopter who understands that progress will come slowly and on his terms.

He is an active, curious bird who loves to climb, explore, and investigate every inch of both the inside and outside of his cage. Pablo is a confident, capable flyer and truly enjoys out of cage time, especially when he has the freedom to move around and observe his surroundings from above.

Vocally, Pablo can be loud and enjoys flock calling, particularly when he hears other birds nearby.

Pablo is eating Zupreem Fruit Blend pellets and continues to work on trying new foods in foster care. While he is not especially interested in hands on interaction right now, he does enjoy being active, engaged, and part of a bird friendly environment.

Pablo would do best in a home that allows him space, time, and patience to build trust. He is smart, energetic, and full of personality, and with the right approach, he has the potential to continue growing into a confident and rewarding companion for someone who appreciates a bird with independence and attitude.
Adoption Fee: $200

STAR - St. Louis Avian Rescue's Adoption Policy
Please note, due to the quantity of emails that we receive, simply "starting an inquiry" will not receive a reply. Please email info@staravian.org if you have a specific question. The first step is to fill out an Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. All birds are in volunteer foster homes, and a meeting may not be set up until you are approved to adopt. Our adoption team will process your application and set up a home visit. All current pets (including any birds cockatiel and larger) must be up to date on yearly wellness exams and any state mandated vaccines. We do not ship birds, and have a 100-mile adoption radius (using St. Louis Lambert Airport as the start point). We do not adopt to breeders. We are not able to adopt birds into homes that use Teflon product or smoke due to toxicity dangers.
