Olive's Story

Olive is 8 years old and is a Green Yellow Face budgie.

She is comfortable with females and males, along with other animals in the home; including other birds.

Olive likes using a playstand outside her cage and will take treats from her human.
Olive is lovely and soft-spoken and enjoys wood or natural toys.

She is not hand-tamed but will gladly eat millet from your hand. She can be let out to perch on her cage with patience and time. She enjoys observing other birds and would do best with another mature and calmer personality as a roommate, or in a home with various birds to observe from her cage. Every now and then she does acrobatics/hanging upside down.

Olive would do best in a home that understands her boundaries, is ok with a non-singing bird, and may be ok with just hand feeding her without touching. While she has not come out of her cage yet with her foster, her previous owner said she loves to sit on top and explore nearby.

Olive should go with either another calm bird in a large cage or in a home with different bird species for her to be around but not necessarily live with as she seems more independent. She doesn't seem to have a preference for anybody and, since she is still adjusting she can be nippy if you try to touch her.

Overall she doesn't come off as too scared or aggressive but more about having boundaries. Someone who may not have a lot of experience but is willing to learn/read up would be fine.
