My name is Mirasol; I am a young 4-year-old Fisher's lovebird. I am doing such a great job settling in my foster home, but I can't wait to meet my forever family!<br/> <br/>I love being around people, but I prefer females. What can I say? I’m just a girl's girl. I do want to interact with people, hanging out on the side of my cage to watch you and what you’re doing. I want to be part of the action and am very curious. I’m very good with stepping up too, but on a stick. I’m working with my foster mom to be more comfortable with hands and will step up on arms and shoulders now. Hands still scare me. If someone can be patient and work with me consistently, I will come around to trust you and your hands too. I need a little encouragement and someone willing to spend quality time with me, that I deserve. I would thrive in a home where my person is home with me most of the time. I’m a good girl and am very smart! I’m still young and will make an excellent companion once you put a little effort into me. <br/><br/>I am very vocal and love to sing and chirp all day, but I am pretty quiet for a lovebird. I love bells, exploring new toys or areas of the house, interacting with my foster mom, and I love a good bathing session. My feathers are beautiful and vibrant, baths help to keep me looking beautiful, so be prepared for me to take a dip in my water bowl from time to time. I’m also very easygoing about my cage. Some lovebirds can be a little territorial about the cages, but not me. Feel free to rearrange my toys and clean my cage, I’ll sit back and observe as you do. However, the food bowl is mine, so no touching unless you’re filling it back up with something delicious. <br/><br/>When I was surrendered to FPR, I was on a generic brand of cockatiel seed, but my foster mom switched me to a healthier diet of Zupreem pellets and Roudy Bush crumbles. I’m also exploring some fruits and veggies; I’ll try anything once. I would do anything for millet!<br/> <br/>My foster home has other small parrots and dogs. I don’t mind the extra company, even barking, but I do not like interacting with the other birds outside of my cage. I can be a little bit of a bully, it’s best that I’m out alone.<br/><br/>I am a great little girl who can't wait to find my forever home where I will get lots of attention and love! I would do best in a home where my people are around me most of the day. I have some hormonal tendencies, which do get worse if I’m in my cage for long periods.
