Midna's Story

Back on the market, at no fault of her own, is Midna the beautiful blue Quaker parrot! Midna is a classic darling Quaker who enjoys being out of her cage and spending time with her family. As a typical Quaker, Midna doesn't want people in her personal cage space and will let you know with a quick nip! She is hand tame and steps up very nicely, but can be expectedly nippy as she settles into a new place, in true Quaker fashion.

Midna is incredibly animated and friendly, and loves to sit on your shoulder and preen or forage for goodies. This young gal loves watching influencer Quaker videos on YouTube, or chatting to herself as she practices new phrases in her cage. She says "uh-oh" when she drops a snack, "peek-a-boo!" when you play back with her, and laughs to herself.

Midna is a very social little lass who likes to hang out on your shoulder and spend time with the family-- though keep an eye out at meal times, because she wants to sample what you're having and doesn't like being denied a seat at the table! Instead of human food, she should continue enjoying her pelleted diet, along with fresh food like chop-- she will also accept Nutri-Berries as a treat, and enjoys the strong crunch of a good banana chip!

This young lady loves a good spa day as well, closing her eyes and putting a little foot up as her servants (read: you!) mist her with a mister bottle. Ahh, luxury! Don't let her ladylike features fool you, though-- like all Quakers, Midna isn't just another pretty face, and her impeccable mind has figured out how to open doors of her cage-- we support the hustle, but care should be taken to ensure no accidents occur because of her impressive jailbreaking skills!

Midna hasn't shown much interest in other birds, aside from telling them to "talk to the foot" if she isn't feeling like hanging out. As a returning foster to STAR, Midna has been flighted in the past but was unfortunately clipped at her last adoptive home. We would discourage this for her future adopting family, as Midna is a very skilled flier when fully feathered and allowed to be her authentic self!

For toys, the shreddier the better, but toys aren't her favorite pastime, so a well-stocked cage should last you some time. Midna has shown a preference for women over men, and would truly thrive in a home that allows her to be herself and spends lots of quality time with her!
