Matcha's Story

Hi, my name is Matcha…. I am an approximately 2-year-old yellow sided Green Cheek Conure … and I am COMPLETELY BLIND. My last family didn’t realize this when they brought me home… so over time they realized I wasn’t a good fit for them being new to birds. Because I can’t see, I REALLY need to be with my humans to feel safe, and I really don’t like to be left on my own, so I don’t do very well when left in a cage all day by myself. I will call and call (I can’t see but I CAN scream) until someone comes to get me and let me be with them.

Sadly, although my family loved me, they lived in an apartment, and I guess I made too much noise while they were both gone at work all day. So, they found me another home with some nice people from Florida Parrot Rescue! At first, I was scared because I didn’t know where I was, but they’re not gone from home as much as my last family was… and when they do happen to both leave, I can hear the other birds in the house… so I’m actually never alone now!

Apparently, they fell in love with me pretty quick… because now they’re calling me a “foster failure” whatever that is…. But I don’t feel like a failure…. I really like these people, and I’m happy they are letting me stay. ??

Foster Location: St Cloud, FL

Interested in adoption?
