Machu Picchu The Macaw's Story

The first step to adoption is to fill out our adoption application to adopt Picchu.
Picchu is a 31-year-old blue and gold macaw who has No bad habits. Fun fact: "Picchu" means "mountain" in classical Quechua, the language spoken by the ancient Incans.
Picchu is very smart and active, and he loves to play with his toys. He needs a macaw-savvy human who is willing to be patient and work with him, and in return he will be an amazing companion.
We offer different levels of adoption packages. If you need a Large Cage with toys, 1 month of seed.
Adopters must be stable and within the age range of 30 to 65 years old to adopt Picchu. Most experienced adopters know that large parrots can live between 40 to 80 years, or longer with proper exercise, diet, and care.

We prefer to place Picchu with home who have a minimum of 1 year of large parrot experience. No necessary but preferred. We cannot place parrots with anyone who shares a wall with their neighbor.

If you're ready to adopt Picchu within this upcoming week, please visit our website and fill out our adoption application to schedule an appointment to meet him. We will get back to you as soon as we can.

Picchu aka Machu Picchu primarily prefers a man for his companion, he is tame and one of our very special boys, so we will be cautious about whom we place him with. Picchu can be trusted to stay on top of his cage while being supervised. Picchu now has a white cage. He is a 31-year-old blue and gold macaw who is a bit skittish but very tame and trusting. He was neglected in the past, seemingly, and wasn't handled much, but he loves to be handled and to be around people. He’s very tame now.

If possible, we prefer to place Picchu with an experienced macaw handler, but experience isn’t necessary for Picchu; TLC and a good stable environment are. Picchu’s reduced adoption includes his cage and care package. Picchu loves music and TV, especially cartoons, classical, as well as nature documentaries.

Picchu likes both men and women, although he has also lived with dogs, cats, and sometimes children. It’s going to take a while to have him trust children, and Picchu trusts men. He is very smart and active, and he loves to play with his toys. We prefer someone who is an experienced macaw handler, someone who is willing to be patient and work with him, and in return, he will be an amazing companion.

If you're interested in adopting Picchu, please act fast. He is a nice boy with a reasonable adoption fee. If you're ready to adopt Picchu, please visit our website and fill out our adoption application to schedule an appointment to meet him. We will get back to you as soon as we can.
