Kiwi The Greater Sulfur Crested Cockatoo *For Men Only's Story
Kiwi is an exceptionally beautiful Greater Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo with a truly unique personality.
New Photos Coming soon...

When you approach Kiwi, he will enthusiastically ask you to shake hands! He’ll happily reach his leg through the cage and say “Shake!” three times if you don’t respond right away. Then, he will grab your finger, shake firmly, and hold on tightly until you pull away.
Kiwi only prefers a Man as his next companion. Sorry lady's.
Shortly after that, he might surprise you by asking, “Do you have any money?!” He’s a blast! Kiwi has a wonderfully quirky personality and is extremely sharp-witted.

He’s at his best when he has an audience or when he’s in a room full of other animals. Around dogs, he will confidently tell them to “Sit!” “Stop it!” “Get down!” and sometimes even “Shut up!” Around other birds, if one gets too loud, Kiwi will quickly reprimand them with “Shut up!” “Knock it off!” or “Be quiet!”

It’s obvious that he’s been housed with dogs, as he often says things like “Stop!” “Sit!” “Be good!” and “Lay down.” One of the funniest things he says is when you walk by—sometimes he’ll greet you with, “Hi, Monkey Butt!”

Kiwi’s humor is spot-on, and his personality shines brightest when another animal is being noisy. He has no problem stepping in to discipline them!

His past owners were wonderful, though every now and then Kiwi will say, “Bad bird.” We always try to turn that around by reassuring him, “Good bird!” He was taught plenty of nice things to say and very rarely uses a naughty word.

Kiwi speaks well over 30 words and phrases. He’s very animated and will often ask if he can go outside when given the chance.

We will only place Kiwi with an experienced cockatoo owner. At one time, Kiwi was fully tame, but after a traumatic event in his previous home, he became more cage-bound. These days, he spends his daytime hours outside in the aviaries having a blast, but he still needs one-on-one trust building with a skilled handler.

He has a healthy appetite and loves his fruits and veggies, but more than anything, he needs a dedicated and experienced companion.

Kiwi’s adoption fee is reasonable and includes his large cage and our generous care package. However, we will only rehome him with someone who has true cockatoo experience and who does not share walls with neighbors (cockatoos can be very loud!).

If you’re ready to adopt Kiwi, please visit our website and submit your application. Once we receive it, we will contact you by email to schedule a phone interview before arranging a meet-and-greet. Please check your email regularly so we can coordinate quickly — we work on a tight timeline, and time spent on unprepared adopters may result in a parrot losing its forever home.

We cannot take advance phone calls, and we do not answer questions without a completed adoption application. This ensures we are speaking only with qualified adopters, not casual shoppers.

Important Notes:

Please be prepared to adopt within 72 hours of submitting your application.

Kiwi’s adoption includes his large cage, a generous care package, and a brand-new custom parrot carrier.

Please refrain from calling after submitting your application; we will email you as soon as possible with the next steps.

Thank you for your patience and understanding of our process.
