He may become territorial if personal space is invaded and could nip if bothered. He dislikes loud or fast movements. Responds best to calm, gentle handling with respect for boundaries. Sometimes makes noise to get attention, express frustration, or when around food.
Why are you needing to rehome your bird?
Our family is moving and can no longer provide Kalvin with the attention and space he needs. We’re looking for a loving, responsible new home.
Provide us with any additional information that may help a candidate show interest in your bird.
- [ ] Kalvin is a funny and smart bird with a big personality. He enjoys stepping up on a hand or sitting on a shoulder once comfortable. Sometimes, he even flies onto a head. He shows affection by leaning in and staying close. Kalvin loves to talk and quickly learns new words when repeated often. While he can be chatty, his volume varies with mood. He sometimes bobs his head to music or when excited, enjoys watching people, and listening to music. He also likes baths and thrives with daily out-of-cage time and mental stimulation. Fully flighted, Kalvin flies safely indoors. When outside in familiar spaces, he may briefly fly off if startled but usually stays close and returns on his own. Curious but cautious, Kalvin takes time to adjust to new places and unfamiliar people. Although his gender is unknown, we use both he and she when referring to Kalvin. He does best with calm, patient owners who understand his unique personality.
