You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hatch Date: 1990<br/><br/>Early in the month of December, we received an urgent call for help and, without hesitation, we answered.<br/><br/>It's been a few short months now and, after some settling in time, we are happy to introduce all to Hojo!<br/><br/>Hojo has not had an easy life, but you'd never know it based on her extraordinary resilience, her willingness to trust, and her joyful demeanor.<br/><br/>Having lost the only caretaker she has known, all while living in less than ideal conditions- both caged and covered, she continues to blossom into a beautiful and forgiving soul.<br/><br/>Hojo is a 35 year old confirmed Female Blue Fronted Amazon.<br/>She is quite petite.and dainty for her species, but she possesses the biggest heart.<br/>Hojo lives for kisses..and isn't shy about asking for them.<br/>In fact, she'll lean in requesting them<br/><br/>Hojo has made great progress with stepping up, and allows herself to be carried close to chest like an infant!.<br/>She yearns for that closeness.<br/><br/>Hojo sounds perfect, but as with everything, there are a few challenges with this sweet girl.<br/>She is LOUD. Hojo has moments of being very vocal and will yell at times until she is satisfied.<br/>Apartment/ Condo life is not in her best interest as neighbors could understandably take issue.<br/><br/>Hojo has gotten her taste of freedom from her cage and takes full advantage of that time.<br/>Out of cage time is a requirement for this girl.<br/>If cage time is mandatory upon leaving the house, this funny girl will yell in protest.<br/>Hojo does say 'bye bye' when you leave and happily greets you when you return.<br/><br/>Hojo is a wanderer! She can be destructive. Wood is her go-to.<br/>A java tree or free standing perch with plenty of toys is strongly recommended.<br/>Supervision is vital to kerp both Hojo and your belongings safe.from this if allowed to wander on floors which she does like.<br/><br/>Hojo is a very gentle soul who loves deeply.<br/>She is indifferent to dogs, but does not appear to want other birds around her.<br/>Highly recommended she be away from smaller species of birds to maintain a happy household.<br/><br/>Diet consists of a mixture of Harrison's coarse pellets mixed with Higgins Mayan.<br/><br/>Hojo has been introduced to egg whites, leafy greens, carrots, and some fruits that she thoroughly enjoys.<br/>She is very curious about new foods being offered.<br/><br/>This little lady is an adorable little hurricane who is looking to love her forever family.<br/><br/>Hojo has been disease tested for chlamydia and PBFD.<br/>She is being fostered in Howell, NJ and will require in-person visits before adoption.<br/>We do not ship our birds.<br/>For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.<br/>As our adoptable birds are living in private volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits.<br/>If interested in adopting Hojo, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org<br/>Please read our adoption policies, fees and complete an adoption application.
