Gwendolyn's Story

Hello everyone. My name is Gwendolyn, or Gwendi as I like to be called. I am a frightened and untamed 11-year-old cockatiel. I am improving very slowly as I settle in my foster home.

I do not step up and will bite and charge the cage bars when she I someone new.
I love my mirror and will sing beautiful songs, especially in the morning. I do like to stay in my cage, even when the door is open all day.

I would do best in a home without cats and dogs. I cannot fly very well, and I fly into walls. The vet recommended my previous owner and current foster mom keep my wings clipped due to this. I have a little scar on her head from repeatedly flying into walls from when I was younger.

Despite my name, my previous owner shared with Florida Parrot Rescue that I may be a boy because no eggs were ever laid.

My foster mom feels that I would do best with another cockatiel friend as I have become very protective of the other cockatiel in the house, and I love to talk and stare at him.

I will definitely thrive in a home that will allow me to continue to feel safe and build trust. If you think we would be a good match, fill out an application below.

Gwendolyn would love a "Welcome to Foster" gift.
