Euterpe & Terpsichore's Story
Euterpe & Terpsichore are a bonded pair of female budgies, about 2 years old. They were in contact with a bird who had avian borna virus (ABV). That was almost 2 years ago. The budgies have remained healthy, but they may be carriers of the virus. They should be in a home with no other birds.

Euterpe: She is a social and very talkative bird. She loves to chirp and sing her little heart out and will greet you in the morning or when you come into the room. Her name means “song.” She loves it when you talk back to her or mimic her, and enjoys having conversations in this way. Euterpe loves to play and tear her toys apart, and she’s very mischievous. She’s always curious what you or Terpsichore are doing, but she doesn’t quite like being touched yet, though she has stepped up (onto a hand) before and could be hand trained with some time and patience. She is a little skittish and spooks easily if you’re not slow and gentle. She loves millet and being around people, as long as she’s safe inside her cage. She does like to come out and fly, but usually for short periods.

Terpsichore: She is a quiet bird who likes to quietly observe. She is less skittish than Euterpe and more likely to try new things like food or training. She is less vocal and talks less to people, but she loves chirping with Euterpe or eating millet. She is a very regal bird who likes her naps and likes to watch people. She prefers the cage but she is a beautiful flyer and enjoys flying (her name means “dance.”) She likes her alone time, even though Euterpe usually follows her around. They both love the swing, and so they are always fighting about who gets to sit there. She tends to get pushed around by Euterpe, but she also pushes Euterpe around, so it’s just a dynamic they have. She doesn’t like chewing on things as much, but she still likes to play with things on occasion.

The birds come with a large cage and carrier. They are offer "as is" - no vet check. Adoption fee $80 includes 1-yr. membership to WAES. Must be within driving distance of Ogden.
