Dalton's Story

Dalton is a friendly Pekin drake who was abandoned on a creek. Abandoning any animal is horrible, but Dalton was obviously hand-raised by people and it is especially heartbreaking to think of him suddenly having to figure out how to survive out on his own in the wild. Thankfully he was rescued! He recently completed his quarantine period and received a fecal test which showed he was negative for parasites, so he is ready to start looking for his forever home! Dalton was introduced to Dotty, another Pekin duck who was abandoned on a pond, and the two of them instantly fell in love. Dalton and Dotty are looking for an adoptive home that will provide them with a safe predator-proof coop/enclosure, professional veterinary care when they need it, and lots of love. Contrary to popular belief, a pond is not required for domestic ducks and they do remarkably well in suburban backyard spaces! We provide our adopters with one-on-one coaching, so if you are new to ducks or have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to us! It is our goal to match you with the right birds for you and set both you and them up for success. If you have any questions, please send an email to goodsproutrescue@gmail.com!

Dalton is currently located in Lincoln University, PA, but transport is available most anywhere for a loving forever home!
