Curly's Story
Curly is a 32-year-old Moluccan Cockatoo with a big voice, a soft heart, and a personality as unique as his name. Like many cockatoos, he can be cautious when adjusting to new surroundings, but once he settles in, he shows his sweet and affectionate nature. He absolutely loves head scratches and will gently lower his head to ask for preening.

Curly is hand-tame, though he prefers to be the one to initiate step-ups. He communicates loudly (screaming is his favorite way to talk!) but also shares a few words, his signature phrases are "Hi Curly!" and "Hi good Curly!"

This handsome boy enjoys exploring, climbing down to the floor to check things out, and chewing on his favorite toys, especially large wooden blocks and shreddable grass mats. He eats Zupreem Fruit Blend pellets, fresh fruits and veggies, and pumpkin or pumpkin seeds as treats. Nuts are also a hit, as long as they're shelled for him!

Curly has a curled left foot, likely a birth defect, but it doesn't slow him down one bit. Rope perches help keep him comfortable and steady. He's also a dusty bird and benefits from regular misting. He loves a good spray bath and is slowly getting reacquainted with shower time.

Curly will do best in a home with prior cockatoo experience or a family eager to learn about their complex needs. With patience, enrichment, and lots of love, Curly will make an engaging and devoted companion.

Adoption Fee: $650
