Chia's Story
Meet Chia - an easygoing Eclectus with a big appetite and an even bigger vocabulary!

Chia is a lucky bird that was rescued from a mass hoarding case last summer, and he's back at STAR through no fault of his own. He is a gentle soul who loves both his time inside the cage and his time out exploring. His play stand is one of his favorite hangouts, and he enjoys being part of the household action.

This handsome boy has an extensive vocabulary and loves it when people talk to him. Most of the time, he is quiet and easygoing, though he can get a little loud now and then when he's excited. He can be a bit easily startled, but he recovers quickly and remains a sweet and steady companion.

Chia absolutely loves food! He hasn't turned down a single healthy offering in foster care and happily tries anything put in front of him. He also enjoys his baths and loves playing with toys, with ropes being his current favorite. While he hasn't shown interest in flying yet, he clearly loves his out-of-cage time and would thrive in a home that gives him plenty of it.

Chia has a preference for male companions like himself, though green plumage not a requirement! He gets along with women, but his foster mom has to remind him to "be nice" if he decides to pitch a fit about forced quality time with her. (Ugh, mom!) The forced bonding time seems to be working, because Chia has been warming up to the ladies in the household.

Chia is a wonderful mix of laid-back and social, and he will make a fantastic companion for a family ready to give him the love, enrichment, and care he deserves.

Adoption Fee: $550
