Athena's Story

Athena a a pretty green cheek conure who had a rough start. She spent a long time at a pet store waching all of her bird buddies find homes while she was left behind. She looked very depressed, and a kind soul took her in but is unable to keep her. Athena is now ready to find the permanent home she truly deserves. Although she can be a bit shy at first, she's gaining confidence fast. She's an adventurous little explorerr with a great appetite and love for life. She is used to noise and commotion. So, busy homes are no problem. She would love having bird companions or would do wonderfully as a cherished solo pet with lots of human attention.

PEARL Parrot Rescue's Adoption Policy
Thank you for considering adopting your new feathered companion through PEARL Parrot Rescue. It is estimated that approximately 85% of birds purchased are rehomed or abandoned within the first two years of ownership. By considering adoption you are helping put an end to this crisis affecting companion parrots in the United States. In order to adopt from PEARL, all potential adopters must complete our three step adoption process. This includes an application, participation in our Standards of Care Class, and consent to a home check. Regardless of whether you have had or currently have birds, classes are required. We want to ensure that all our potential adopters are equipped with the knowledge to properly care for a parrot. During these classes we discuss our expectations on caging, diet, enrichment, training, and so much more.
