Ari

It can be challenging finding natural materials with which to make nests in a downtown city environment, and while Ari‘s parents innovated the best they could, by the time he attempted to emerge from his nest as a first time fledgling his feet and ankles were already tightly bound with trash debris from the streets. Fortunately GLPR volunteer Barbara spotted him, probably not long after he fledged, but Ari already had a broken ankle and a fractured toe. And so Ari had to heal and grow at the same time. With bandages and TLC he healed, and with good nutrition and diligent care he grew and grew! We think he is still growing, into a tall and handsome young pigeon man, but for sure this lad is ready to embark on his next adventure in a loving forever home. Ari is a shy, polite little fellow, preferring to carefully observe his surroundings in his foster home first until he’s ready to take bold exploratory moves (perhaps onto the couch or the bookshelf…)! Ari looks adorable in his Pigeon pants, wearing Flypers as though he was born into them, which, given how young he was rescued, he practically was! We are so happy Ari will continue to grow up surrounded by love in his future adoptive home.
