Hello everyone! My name is Andy (30 years old), and my best friend here is Sarah (29 years old). We are two senior Caiques looking for the perfect home to retire in.<br/><br/>We may be seniors, but we are both full of life! Our foster mom says that I am a very chill guy, and Sarah makes her laugh every day with her antics! We are inseparable and scream for each other when we are separated - we have spent most of our life together and will need to remain together until death do us part!<br/><br/>We love hanging out and could hang out on the pillow in your bedroom, or anywhere that you are. We are also highly independent and are happy to be hanging out on a play stand - we will sit where we are put and are content with that. I will not budge from the stand, and I am happy just to have a really big window to look out of and not be in a cage, while Sarah is a little adventurer and will seek any cardboard box, or wicker furnishings to customize.<br/><br/>We are both moderately arthritic and are unable to be stable while perched on your shoulder and moving around. We do get around carefully, though Sarah is much quicker on her feet when walking on the ground versus climbing on perches. We should not have our wings clipped as we already cannot fly, rather we flap. Even with flapping wings, hard landings could make our arthritis worse.<br/><br/>Sarah LOVES her morning green juice, and if our foster mom is making it, she will flop into the kitchen the best she can for it. She also loves fruit smoothies, and fresh fruit and veggies. We have both been fed seeds, fruits and nuts for our entire lives.<br/><br/>We really love sitting out in the aviary - we go outside every day so we can get vitamin D, and we love it! If we aren’t outside in the aviary, we are looking at it from the window, wishing we were in it because we love bathing in the sun!<br/><br/>We are two gentle birds and have not drawn blood from our foster mom or anyone who she has handed us to. My bestie, Sarah has bitten, but it’s usually too weak of a bite to draw blood. We will NOT do good in a home with other birds, as I fixate on wanting to attack my foster siblings who are two male Caiques. I am relentless, though very well behaved with the multiple adults that have held me. We would also not do well in a home with small children as we are not sure footed.<br/><br/>A perfect forever home for us, would be a home with our own room or separate area, where we could spend the rest of our days perched on a play stand. We don’t misbehave or stray too far, so our foster mom rarely has to cage us, and we are happier for that. We would like to have an outdoor aviary or a screened patio to go outside on and enjoy the breeze and lots of sunny days!<br/><br/>Our foster mom has harnessed trained us and I am PERFECT when harnessed, while Sarah seems a little annoyed but is easy distracted from trying to get the harness off. If you can find us stable footing (branches or your fingers) for us to go on trips with you, our foster mom is sure we would love it!<br/><br/>We can't wait to land in our forever home.
