Phoenix's Story

Nearly a year after we rescued a piglet named Monty from a neglectful trash-covered property, we got the call we’d been waiting for: the remaining animals had finally been abandoned, and the Sheriff’s office asked if we could help. When we arrived, only four pigs remained and Phoenix was one of them.

Late that night, we returned to bring them to safety. All four were curled up together in a makeshift shelter. They were tired, dirty, yet still trusting. Phoenix was the first to greet us, stepping forward with gentle curiosity as if he knew his life was about to change.

Now safe at our sanctuary, Phoenix is experiencing love, clean bedding, and nutritious meals for the very first time. He’s a calm, kind soul who enjoys a good nap in the sun and isn’t shy about asking for treats or belly rubs.

Phoenix is ready to find his forever home. Could that home be with you?

You can fill out an adoption form here: https://heartwoodhaven.org/adoption-form/
