Meet Nemo and Stitch
Nemo and Stitch are finally ready for a home together!
These boys were found abandoned in a carrier outside of a pet store early in the morning. Thankfully they were found quickly before the elements could cause harm. We don't know their exact age, but estimate they are about 3 years old. We took them on and noticed immediately how abused they had been. Stitch had a mat on him that was as big as he was and it took quite a bit of work to get the mats all cut out and him cleaned up. Nemo had a huge hair loss patch on his back which we didn’t know the cause of. Luckily with proper care, diet, and housing the hair grew back in no time.
The foster has been working hard on getting the boys social and to come out of their shell. They now will let her pet them without running, well at least until they get their treat and run away to enjoy it in peace. They can be shy at first and need a patient home that can work on their confidence. They aren't fans of being picked up, they'll sometimes try to run away. Once you have them they'll settle down and enjoy cuddle time. They would do best in a home with no young kids. Older, patient kids would be fine.
Their foster says they are very vocal for food, especially around mealtimes. They are super loud and will make their hungry (or so they think) tummies known! We think the boys would do fine in a family setting that gives them time to settle into their new environment. We have them in a hide-less c & c cage with covered areas to help with the socializing which has worked well. The foster is willing to send the C&C cage home with them to allow them to keep the large space they so very much enjoy.
Stitch is an adorable fuzzy, long haired pig that needs regular brushing and trimming. He sits fairly well, but is more patient if he has yummy veggies to snack on.
