Meet Hogan
Hi, my name is Hogan! Here's what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Shy, food motivated, vocal
-Can live with kids: Yes, however they cannot be my primary caregiver.
-Lifespan: 4-8 years (Long haired guinea pigs tend to have a shorter average lifespan)
-Experienced Guinea Pig home: Ideally yes, due to grooming and care needs of a long haired guinea pig. Potential adopter will need to demonstrate knowledge on required care.
-Can live with other Guinea Pigs: Yes, guinea pigs are a social species and after a properly structured introductory period, Hogan can likely live with another (male) guinea pig.
-Bite History: None here at WHS
Additional information: This handsome guinea pig will need a nice roomy cage with daily exercise and his diet should consist of unlimited grass hay, high quality Guinea Pig pellets, and fresh greens daily. Hogan has long hair and will require DAILY grooming with an appropriate brush to ensure his hair keeps clean and free of tangles. This is essential for his hygiene. He will also need regular haircuts and baths to ensure he can see and his hair is not getting in his feces constantly.
Hogan and his brother Mikey came into WHS is poor condition. Their nails have since been trimmed and matts cut from their fur however they will need additional care post-adoption to ensure they are comfortable.
While Hogan did come to WHS with his brother Mikey, Hogan prefers having his own space and will need his own cage in his new home. He could possibly live with another male guinea pig, given the right match, a slow introduction, and each guinea pig having their own personal cage.
