Joey
1 year old Male Terrier mix
Neutered, Microchipped, HW Neg & on prevention and vaccinated
Adoption Fee: $550

Joey is such a pure joy! He’s about a year old and has average puppy energy and drive. He will need an active home where he can get plenty of exercise. He walks well on a leash and loves visits to the dog park.

Joey is very social with other dogs and well behaved around cats. He hasn't quite figured out toys, he is interested in them but isn’t sure what to do with them. He likes to steal his foster mom's shoes, he doesn't chew them. Maybe mom will stay home if she can't find her shoes! ?
He might be a bit shy at first, but within a day or two he will be very affectionate smothering you with kisses, meeting you at the door dancing on his hind legs, and once he gets his wiggles out, cuddling in your lap. His ideal adopter will enjoy spending time introducing him to new people and new situations.

Joey and his sister Ramona were abandoned when they were just a few months old. A Good Samaritan took them in and took great care of them but their earlier experience of surviving on the street left Joey cautious around new people and places. He's still very young and just needs time and the opportunity to meet a lot of new people and situations so he can develop confidence and trust. He will benefit from learning there are good people in the world outside his immediate family. Terriers are an outgoing and adventturesome breed. When they have an ideal start as puppies they can be fearless! Becoming more socially confident will allow him to become the perfect example of his breed. He's adorable, loving, playful and full of joy. He will be a wonderful new family member for many many years.

** Please note: Due to their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5.

The only way to find out if one of our pups will be a good fit in your home is to fill out the online application on the Lil Paws website. Lil Paws is a very small organization, our volunteer time is reserved for interested persons who have filled out the application to adopt.

We do not have a facility, all dogs are fostered in the homes of our volunteers. If you are interested in adopting a dog from Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws, please visit our website at www.lilpaws.org and fill out an adoption application. This is the first step in our adoption process. Our goal is to place our dogs in safe, stable and loving homes in the Austin Metropolitan area. Thanks for looking!

Lil' Paws Maltese Rescue and other Petite Paws depends on donations to keep the dogs in our program healthy. Many health issues are taken care of before a dog leaves a rescue: spaying, neutering, immunizations, dental care, and in some cases major surgery. Because of the cost of this care, donations are essential to enable us to continue our work. If you would like to show appreciation for what we do and help us continue to do it please go to our website homepage and click the donate button. We thank you in advance for your support.
