Lady Border Collie Cincinnati, OH

Meet Lady- she is an 8 year old, 46 pound Border Collie who came to us from West Virginia when her owner entered a nursing home. She is smart, house trained, obedient and definitely sweet. She does well with our hound dog but she does not like our Jack Russell. He is small, loud and bossy and she feels his personality is abhorrent. It is known that Border Collies do not like small, loud dogs and she is no exception.

She has a crinkly ear flap from an old hematoma which doesn't seem to bother her. She had a skin issue on her rear end, but with antibiotics and medicated baths it is clearing up nicely and the fur is growing in.

She absolutely LOVE to play fetch. She would do so all day if my arm had the stamina. She will bring the ball back and drop it right at your feet. She is okay on a leash but could use some training to learn to walk beside her humans, not in front of them. Lady needs a home with a family who will provide physical as well as mental stimulation.

Overall this gal is lovely and will make the right family very happy! Prospective adopters must have a fenced yard (no chain link fences please as Border Collies can climb), and live within 100 miles of Cincinnati. Although Lady is an easy dog, Border Collies in general aren't the best for first time dog owners. So if applying please have dog experience with a current veterinarian reference.
