Doobie Mixed Breed Madison, WI

Meet Doobie! Doobie is a 1-year-old, 47 lb, super fun guy looking for an active family with a fenced-in yard and/or lots of open space for him to run around. Doobie loves to play! Tug, fetch, tricks, prance around with his prize bones - he's up for anything. He also loves to have a job: whether it's clicker training, sniffing out tasty hidden treats, or possibly agility training, having a task to complete helps this pup get the mental and physical workout he needs. After a day of fun, Doobie also loves to snuggle on the couch during TV-time and show off his snoring skills.
Doobie has shown us that he gets very excited on leash when he sees other dogs or animals and will pull and bark, so he has discovered his love of hiking at off-the-beaten-path trails where he won't run into many dogs. He has been working hard on training to improve his leash reactivity, but will need a family that is willing to continue working with him on this. He is crate and house-trained.
Doobie needs a home with a lot of space for him to exercise, and/or with someone who is excited about activities like hiking, agility training, nose work, etc - anything to keep his mind and body active. Doobie loves all people, but he has not lived with small children, so we think he’d do well in a home with kids 13yo or older who won't get knocked over when he jumps up. He has selectively done well with some other dogs, but until he has more training with other dogs we recommend he be an only dog in his home.
When we find the right family for him, Doobie’s adoption fee will waived so the funds can be applied toward positive based training sessions.

Dogs from Underdog Pet Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:
Spay/Neuter
Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations (as age appropriate-puppy adopters may need to cover some vaccine boosters)
Heartworm Test (for dogs over 6mo)
Microchip
Deworming
Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative
Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian

Our adult dog adoption fee is $275. Our puppy (under 5 mo) is $350. Our senior dog (over 8 yrs) is $250.
