Irwin Chinchilla Chinchilla Wolcott, IN

We have a standard grey male chinchilla that is looking for his new home. His name is Irwin! Irwin had a bit of a rough start to his life before he came here – a company that was cleaning out a foreclosed house found him alone in the foreclosed house, having to fend for himself! They found someone to take him temporarily, and that person reached out to us, to take him and find him a home. She named him ChinChin, and his new foster home has named him Irwin, though you can name him whatever you’d like!

Because of his previous living situation, we do not know how old Irwin really is, though we would estimate that he is a younger adult, possibly within the 2-5 year old range.

Irwin’s color is called standard grey, which means he is the classic salt and pepper chinchilla color over his back and much of his body, with a white belly.

Here’s what Irwin’s foster home has to say about him:

“Irwin is curious and talkative. He’s very playful and will run away from you and then run right back to get his head scratched. Whenever he hears someone in the room, he runs to the side of the cage and puts his paw up. Sometimes it’s cute and sometimes he looks angry, haha!”

Irwin has never bitten anyone.

This chinchilla would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had chinchillas before.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Tradition pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. He will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

Irwin is currently living with one of our foster homes in Chicago, IL. He will need to be brought back to our rescue (with paid deposit) for him to be adopted. Please allow for time to set up transportation if you are interested in this little cutie!
