Red Chinchilla Chinchilla Wolcott, IN

We have a standard grey female chinchilla that is looking for her new home. When she was brought into the rescue, we were told that her name is The Crimson Chin, so we call her Red! We have down that Red was born around 7/2015, which makes her just now 4 years old. Great time to take her home.

Red’s color is called standard grey, which is the classic color in chinchillas – a greyish color over his back, with a white belly.

Red is currently at one of our foster homes, in Rochelle, IL. Here’s what Red’s foster home has to say about her: “She’s really friendly, she didn’t even try to nibble when we first met. Pretty easy to pick up as long as I don’t sneak up on her. When we do playtime, she’s so energetic that she doesn’t know when to stop, even when she gets exhausted, so I’m careful to not do playtime for too long.”

Red has never bitten anyone.

Red would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who hasn’t had one before.

This chinchilla is currently living alone, and we do not know if she gets along with other chinchillas. If you are curious as to whether she might get along with your, or one of our, chinchillas, let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

This chinchilla would make a great “first chinchilla” for someone who’s never had chinchillas before, as long as they understand that she is more on the active side.

This chinchilla will come with some food to start you out (2 pounds of Mazuri pellets), a goodie bags of chews/treats, and a printed out version of our care packet. She will also come with a lifetime of help and support, should you ever need it. If more supplies are needed, we also sell a variety of chinchilla supplies, from cages to hidey houses to hammocks and everything in between.

Regardless of past chinchilla experience, all potential homes will be asked to read our chinchilla care packet and fill out our adoption application/chinchilla questionnaire. If you are unwilling to do this, please do not waste our time or yours. No chinchilla will go to a new home without an adoption application being filled out - no exceptions.

Red is currently being fostered in Rochelle, IL. She can be adopted directly from her foster home, or can be brought back to the rescue in Hammond, IN for adoption as well. Please allow time to make arrangements, if you are interested in Red.
