Meet Miley
Meet Miley! Miley (12yo, 11#) is a typical senior dog in that she is calm and quiet, and enjoys spending a lot of her time sleeping in her nice cushy dog bed. Miley is a little foodie and gets very excited and animated about meal time. Her favorite treat is a ginger snap.
Miley is calm and quiet in the house, and gets along well with other dogs. She is sweet and cuddly with people. A very easy dog to live with!
Because Miley is blind and deaf, her bed is especially important as her 'home base' within the house. We place her back into her bed each time we come inside from a potty break so she can re-orient herself to the space.
She has no trouble finding her food and water bowl in the house at all, and navigates back to her bed as long as it stays in the same place in the house. Currently we are keeping Miley contained to just a few rooms in the house using baby gates so that she can gently explore the space safely. She is carried out into the yard to do her business, but because she went blind later in life, she maintains leash skills, but cannot be trusted to walk on a leash without guidance.
Miley rides well in the car and is mostly housetrained. We are still working out how to communicate with her foster Mom about her bathroom needs. She clearly demonstrates an understanding of going to the bathroom outside being the preference.
Miley navigates extremely well despite being blind and deaf, and she is so happy and silly and funny. She has such a love of life and joy about her and is looking for a soft place to land and live out her senior years.

Dogs from Underdog Pet Rescue come with the following medical care already provided:
Spay/Neuter
Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella Vaccinations (as age appropriate-puppy adopters may need to cover some vaccine boosters OR they have the option of bringing the pet to Underdog for complimentary completion of these vaccines)
Heartworm Test (for dogs over 6mo)
Microchip
Deworming
Heartworm and Flea/Tick Preventative
Any other necessary medical treatment as recommended by veterinarian
Our adult dog adoption fee is $275. Our puppy (under 5 mo) is $350. Our senior dog (over 8 yrs) is $250.
*Please note that all breeds noted are estimates or best guesses. We very rarely have information on our animals' actual breeds since they often come to the shelters we work with as strays*
