Meet Charity in OH - So Sweet

Say hello to our very own sweet, loving Charity! Charity may have spent the first part of her young life on her own, but she now enjoys being showered with affection from people who love her. Initially timid and shy, Charity has quickly settled in well at her foster home and is a cuddly girl with her humans. Charity loves being outdoors playing, but also prefers to be indoors with her family. As with other dogs of her breed, one of her priorities is to make sure there are no intruders to their property. Charity is not shy about showing her affection to her foster family or anyone who shows her kindness and affection...her favorite pastime is to rest her head in her foster mom's lap and get petted! Just like her Pyr ancestors, Charity is extremely smart and learned to sit on command after just a few days in her foster home. Although she walks great on leash, she is also working with a professional dog trainer to learn more manners; especially overcoming fears about unfamiliar things. Charity is treat-motivated and very good about taking direction. Charity has 3 wishes for her furever home: 1. Loving humans who will pamper her and give her all the love she missed out on in her young life; 2. A confident, experienced leader who can guide her and help her thrive with daily kindness, love and patience; 3. A nice big fenced in yard to run and play in. Will you be the one to grant Charity's wishes?

Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
