Bombay Shiba Inu & Jindo Mix Long Island City, NY

Bombay is estimated to be just under a year old Shiba/ Jindo mixed male. Our rescuer was doing a routine check up at one of the kill shelters, and noticed that there's a male pup in the outdoor kennel who was so scared during the monsoon season with the rain and thunder. We decided to pull him out of the shelter and bring him to our safehouse to observe him more. In his profile, he came to the shelter with injured hind leg, but it adhered on its own. We assume that he was probably in the accident, and the previous owner did not want to care for him, and just abandon him. Our vet assessed his leg, and told us that because it already adhered on its own, it's better to leave it alone rather than trying to fix it. He limps when he walks due to shorten hind leg, but not in pain, therefore, we expect he'd live a normal life as is.

At our safehouse in Korea, where he spent more than a month for us to observe him, he amazed us with incredible gentle personality. He is quiet, loves other dogs, large or small, friendly, kind and polite to people. He was not even scared of the rain or thunder at our safehouse anymore although all three sides of our facility is surrounded with large windows! He just needed some loving people who could care for him. He's neutered, and received a clean bill of health from our vet. All he needs is a loving family that he can spend the rest of his life with now.

We believe people who adopt rescue animals because they are willing to accept a bit of imperfection, and willing to embrace, work/ train and love them no matter what baggage the animal had in the past. It can be challenging, but extremely rewarding. We have seen amazing transformation in our adopted dogs who have been with loving families, and it is our goal to provide all of them with the opportunity. We are at our happiest when we see photos of our adopted animals smile with the new adoptive family, and we hope to find Bombay a loving family who would do the same.
