Note: Dogs are pack animals and do not do well away from other members of their pack. The adopter is the alpha member of the pack, and the dog or puppy needs as much one-on-one contact with the alpha as possible. For this reason, all Route 66 Rescue Inc. dogs are adopted to inside homes only. They must be on leash, or inside a secure fence when outside, and not left outside alone when no one is home. Invisible fencing does not qualify as protection since other animals and strangers have access to the dog. The dogs must be returned to Route 66 Rescue, Inc. if ever given up by the adopter. Blacky Rose was adopted into the perfect home, but there was one problem. She was perfect in every way, except with the right incentive, she could go over their four foot fence. The right incentive the first time was a chipmunk. Because dogs cannot be allowed to run on their own, there will be no second time. She is back where she is looking for a home with a privacy fenced yard.

History--Blacky Rose is the beloved pet of a couple who are now in assisted living, and cannot care for her any longer. She is a lovely, sweet tempered, very polite and mannerly girl. She gets along well with the other dogs, but would like to go back to the serenity of being an only child like she is used to be.
