Clifford Chesapeake Bay Retriever & Terrier Mix Cincinnati, OH

Handsome Clifford was left to fend for himself at a very high kill county pound. This sweet boy looks like an awesome mix of Bulldog/Terrier, and Weimaraner or Vizsla or Chesapeake Bay Retriever. You never really know but the one thing we do know is that we LOVE this little guy:)

Clifford is around 1 1/2 years old and weighs 40 lbs. He was very well behaved and friendly at his first vet visit. Clifford is young and active and would benefit from lots of exercise and playtime in a home. He’s very sweet, and full of fun and goofy energy. He loves people and dogs.

Here is some great feedback from a volunteer after a walk with Clifford:
“Clifford is pure cuteness! He was being very cooperative assisting me with getting him into his harness - he would lift one foot to climb in but was wiggling so much he could barely stay standing. Clifford loved his trip to the park - he loves to sniff all the good smells but was also happy to jog along side me when I picked up the pace - he looks like a show dog when he jogs - he absolutely prances. Clifford was friendly with everyone we passed, people and dogs alike. He would bark at the dogs but was jumping around, tail wagging ready to play. He is a pleasure to be around. Clifford is a very affectionate and happy boy. He has the sweetest eyes and crazy webbed feet - I think he has some Chessie in him, or maybe Weimeraner. Doesn't matter - he is straight up adorable. “

Clifford has those classic puppy dog eyes and very expressive ears- what a sweetheart! Clifford can’t wait to meet his new family, and STAF is ready to help him find them.

Clifford will need: A home committed to giving him plenty of exercise and positive based training.
Clifford would love: A fenced yard or daycare during the week or maybe a playmate to help him get his exercise.
Clifford’s estimated birth date is January 2017

You must be 21 years or older to adopt a dog from STAF

We require a physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog's behavior and exercise needs.

Invisible fences - Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training--we cannot adopt to homes with invisible fences unless otherwise noted in a dog's online profile.

We do request vet and personal references.

At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 75 miles of Cincinnati.
