Terni Italian Greyhound Norcross, GA

Terni is a special boy who has had a long journey after being rescued from a hoarding situation in 2016. At 5 years old he did not know what a kind touch was or what grass felt like. He has been with his foster family for over a year now and is now to the point where he enjoys calm, gentle pets on the couch. He is looking for a family who will be understanding and patient with his special needs. He would like a calm, low key family to love. His journey has been slow but so very rewarding. He is working on potty training and does best with a routine and supervision. He doesn't go for walks but he does enjoy rolling around in the grass and running zoomies in the yard. He needs a yard with a 6 foot fence and locked gates. He prefers to have his humans out in the yard with him and will prance behind you as you walk. He loves to hang out with his foster mom while she works in the garden.

He would prefer a home with other small pups or Italian Greyhounds. No large dogs please as Terni's skittish behavior provokes a chase response. He sleeps in his crate at night and enjoys a good rub before bedtime. He is not comfortable being picked up but does like being close to his people. He does not know how to go up or down stairs. He is a flight risk so it is important that doors to the home have secure gates to prevent escape and that people are not coming and going through the gate in the yard.

His favorite activities are rolling in the grass outside (in the sunshine of course!), hanging out on the couch, and chewing on a good bully stick.


Terni is available through the Rescue program of the Italian Greyhound Club of America. Potential adopters will complete an application and undergo a pre-adoption home visit. Thanks for considering Terni!
