Just like my namesake Helen Keller, I’m not just another pretty face. I’m smart too! I have special needs as I was born with visual impairment. It turns out that I have at least some hearing, which is awesome! The good folks here at MLAR are learning cool things about me every day, like I know how to ‘sit’ and sometimes ‘down', and I rarely run into a wall, which has them stunned. I love to play with all the other pups in my puppy kindergarten class, and I’m as brave as they come. I keep telling people that I don’t know that I don’t see so well, so I just.. do. That all said, I will need to be adopted by someone that understands my special needs and is going to put in the time and training required for me to succeed. An experienced person with these types of things would be preferred. Out of my siblings, I am probably the most laid back, enjoying a good romp but then I settle in for a cuddle and a snooze. Out-of-state applicants will not be considered, unless there are special circumstances. Main Line Animal Rescue does local adoptions to families with excellent vet references and an installed fenced yard. You must have a secure traditional fence OR a professionally installed underground electric fenced area in which a dog can safely play without getting out). The fence must be securely attached to your house, dog pens, dog runs and a tie outs are not approved.
