Meet Raina
Raina was found last fall as a starving, very sick stray, in the lot of a local service station. She was struggling to breathe, so we, the finders, took her to a vet who found that she had a polyp blocking her throat. After being given fluids and antibiotics, and having surgery to remove the polyp, she began to put on weight. She was tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and was found not to have either one. She was found to be already spayed and estimated age is about 4 yrs.
Raina currently lives in my home with 4 rescue dogs. She doesn't like the dogs but tolerates them. She is kept separate from them which limits her freedom and great deal. We have found that she is OK with cats and dogs as long as she is the boss and they do not bother her. She is affectionate on her own terms, and likes to be with people. She does not like to be picked up, but will sometimes climb in your lap. Raina would not be good for small children.
Raina has survived a very hard life and we feel she deserves to be in a home of her own. This is a courtesy posting, and she is still in my care, and not at the shelter. If interested, email me directly at sqhelton.sh@gmail.com.
