Lucy's foster mom has had nothing but great things to say about her. Since coming to our rescue on 2/3/2018, she's opening up and showing off her personality, doing some dancing, and she's submissive with other dogs. Lucy is also housetrained, had no accidents, and rides well in the car. She is 12 years young in March 2018.

Lucy was loved by everyone at the veterinary clinic, and she gave lots of kisses. She even made friends with a deaf pitbull while there. She's 16.5lbs, her heart sounds good. The vet prescribed an eye ointment for a healing ulcer she has, and at this time he does not feel the cherry eye needs surgical correction. While it is mostly present, it comes and goes and is small.

Lucy's bloodwork showed her liver enzymes, potassium and phosphorous were mildly elevated. She also needs a dental (though her teeth are not terrible), but until her liver enzymes normalize, anesthesia can be risky. Since the dental isn't direly needed, we prefer to hold off on it. Her vet suggested she be treated for a month with Denamarin (it provides liver support) and then have her bloodwork redone at that time. The hope is that the levels fall within the normal range. She's currently on Clindamyacin to clear up any possible infection lurking in her mouth, so she's happy and comfortable.

Lucy is great on a leash, loves sitting on the back of the couch, and gives nudges to get lovings. She takes a little time to really show off her personality, but with time and love she comes out of her shell more and more each day. When her foster mom comes home from work, she does the cutest little happy dance and is so happy to see her. She is crate trained, but she is trust worthy outside of the crate. Her foster mom does not crate her when she is away from home, and while there are pee pads down, Lucy prefers to go outside.

Lucy is a tad overweight, but her foster mom is working on feeding her quality dog food and getting her some exercise. She enjoys playing with her Crested foster brother in the yard, and gets a little game of chase in sometimes. Her skin is also getting TLC from her foster mom to get in back to optimum health. It was a tad neglected, but in the brief time she's been in foster, she's already looking and feeling so much better.

Lucy is spayed, UTD on rabies and distemper, heartworm negative and will be micropchipped. She is fostered in Vero Beach, FL. Lucy's adoption fee is $250.00..
